Emerging Professional Webinar: Lightweight Cellular Concrete for Geotechnical ApplicationsPresented by Tyler Bodnar, CNCA and Greg Halsted, Portland Cement Association Please join us on December 12th at 11am where we will host a complimentary webinar courtesy of California Cement Association. Lightweight cellular concrete (LCC) is a mixture of portland cement, water, and air that can act as a lightweight, strong, durable, and inexpensive soil or fill replacement for geotechnical applications. LCC saves time, money, and natural resources by replacing aggregates with air bubbles in numerous project applications. This presentation will introduce construction professionals and the design community to LCC and assist them in specifying this product for daily use. About the Speakers:Tyler Bodnar represents the California Nevada Cement Association (CNCA) as the Director of Geotechnical Markets for California and Nevada. After spending over eleven years as a municipal engineer, Tyler now provides technical support and educational opportunities for cement-based solutions including lightweight cellular concrete. Tyler is actively involved in academic research, DOT specification committees, and several associations including ASCE, CalGeo, and APWA. Greg Halsted is the Manager of Pavement and Geotechnical Markets for the Portland Cement Association (PCA). He is responsible for expanding market share for use of portland cement in all paving and engineered cement applications including conventional concrete, roller‐compacted concrete, pervious concrete, cement-modified and cement-stabilized soils, cement‐treated base, full‐depth reclamation, slurry trenches, flowable fill, deep soil mixing, lightweight cellular concrete and waste solidification/stabilization.
