The Center for Geotechnical Modeling (CGM) at UC Davis provides users access to world-class geotechnical modeling facilities, including 9-m and 1-m radius centrifuges with shaking tables. Their 9-m radius centrifuge has the largest radius of any centrifuge with a shake table worldwide! The large size and advanced technologies, provide the unique ability to construct soil models and soil-structure models and enable major geotechnical advances in the ability to predict and improve performance of soil and soil-structure systems affected by earthquake, wave, wind, and storm surcharge loads. The CGM operates as a national shared-use, open-access Equipment Facility in the National Science Foundation (NFS) sponsored Natural Hazard and Equipment Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) network. 

Students will present their research projects and pizza will be provided.  Due to size of the facility, registration is required.  A small fee is being collected to cover cost of refreshments and acknowledging the grad students.
