ASGE-GI Los Angeles Queen Mary Event

Please join the Los Angeles Geo-Institute for their Annual half-day speaker series at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

The ASCE Los Angeles Geo-Institute Chapter established the Kenneth L. Lee Lecture Award to honor the contributions of Professor Lee to his profession and to recognize outstanding achievements in earthquake engineering, earth structures design, and geotechnical engineering.

The 2020 recipient of the Kenneth L. Lee Lecture Award is Professor Harry G. Poulos. Prof. Poulos will deliver the SIXTEENTH Kenneth Lee Lecture during the evening Banquet titled “Issues, Procedures and Some Shortcomings in Deep Foundation Design”

There are two afternoon presentations, the first of which will be given by Dr. Mark Panning, Research Scientist, InSight Mission to Mars, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, on “InSight: The First Geophysical Observatory on Mars” and the second afternoon presentation will be given by Professor John Harvey, of University of California, Davis, (UC Davis) on “Mechanistic-Empirical Empirical Pavement Design Using CalME and PavementME”
