CalGeo CONNECTIONS 2021: Going Virtual

CalGeo's is excited to announce our first VIRTUAL conference! We are calling it CONNECTIONS 2021. Join us on April 28-30th for a chill 3-days of technical, management and fun sessions to increase your knowledge and share experience with our industry.
We've spaced out the program to include just 2 main sessions per day. Lots of time to get your regular work done and still sign-in early to chat with long lost friends!
For a quick overview - watch our CONFERENCE VIDEO HERE >>
Download a PDF of the program HERE or read it on-line HERE
Now more than ever we need to reconnect with others in our industry to share our experiences from the good, the bad and the ugly. Plan for the future and learn from each other's triumphs and tribulations.
We are excited to bring you some great speakers, networking/video chat opportunities and some fun events this year.
Another ZOOM call or webinar? NO WAY!
Our conference platform, Pheedloop, allows for a lot of great features we think you'll love:
Lobby: Add interesting sessions right to your calendar and catch up on conference announcements or chat with other attendees before the next session.
Sessions: We have a fantastic program of key-note lectures and panels sessions for you this year you don't want to miss. From Prevailing Wage to Design-Build and Technical issues of post-fire debris flow we have all the content you need.
Group Discussion Sessions: Join one of our session rooms for group discussions (up to 25 people) on topics affecting geotechnical engineers in California. Sessions will be attended by a CalGeo board member to gather info and share to the group.
Pro-Tip: Attendees can also create their own discussion groups for up to 5 attendees. Look for fellow sports fans, or emerging professionals - you can name your group whatever you like!
Networking: Start a one-on-one chat with any other attendee or long-lost friend and click to switch to a fun video-chat visit.
Expo: Visit our Affiliate member booths to gather materials, watch videos or live-chat with the reps. Get up to speed on new technology and products and watch live demos.
Don't miss our exciting FUN social events included in your registration (alcohol shipments are an extra charge):
- Wednesday April 28th, 6pm: Trivial Night!

The categories are as follows (RED indicates no current submissions):

- Private Medium-Budget Category ($100,000 up to $500,000)
- Private Large-Budget Category (over $500,000)
- Public* Small-Budget Category (under $100,000)
- Public* Medium-Budget Category ($100,000 up to $500,000)
- Public* Large-Budget Category (over $500,000)
- Geo-Contractor Category (Affiliate members)
* Public projects are defined as projects where the owner of the project is a public entity (i.e. state, city, county, federal), regardless of who the consultant contracted with.
The clock starts.... NOW! You have 2 weeks, until March 16th to get your submissions in.

Spring into Action: Call for 2020 Salary Survey Data
We are now collecting data for our 2020 salary survey - DUE MAY 1st!
Please download the 2020 template and send e-mail the completed excel file to Kelly Cabal by May 1st! We plan to have the salary survey completed by early June so there will be very little wiggle room and extensions. Rest assured that your data will be kept confidential.
Only members have access to the salary survey and if you don't participate it will cost you a cool $500. Save your money and submit your data.
Please note the following for faster processing:
We have a new improved version with updated job categories - please select the closest job category in OUR LIST.
Keeping the data consistent will save us time in creating the final report.
Please use employee's yearly salary (or hourly), not the total they were actually paid last year if starting or leaving mid-way through the year.
SAVE $500 and submit your data now. This will be the best tool for keeping your staff and new hires.
