Outstanding Project Awards - Call for Entries

Every year, at our Annual Conference, CalGeo gives awards to the most Outstanding Projects of the year. Our members submit their project(s) for consideration a few months prior to the conference date. Our Immediate Past President heads a committee of three that judge each project based on established criteria.

Once a decision has been made, all firms are notified. Winner(s) will receive a beautiful crystal trophy and will have the opportunity to present their project during the awards presentation luncheon at the Annual Conference in La Jolla, CA on Saturday, May 1, 2010.

The Awards Program is open to all Active member firms of CalGeo in good standing, except member firms on the judging committee. Any project will be considered for the award, but only projects completed and constructed within the previous five calendar years are eligible.

We are now Calling for Entries and applications will be accepted through January 29, 2010. An Application packet has just been sent to all Active member firms. You may also download the forms here.

Blackburn Consulting Receives "Best Firm to Work For" Award.

With great pride and for the second year in a row, Blackburn Consulting was honored as one of CE News' "Best Firms to Work For". This award was presented to Blackburn Consulting's Human Resource Manager, Kelly Dahill, at the CE News Chicago Summit on September 22nd.

Awardees are determined by the review of an extensive confidential survey of employees and management. Blackburn Consulting was ranked 34th overall and 17th among small firms, quite an accomplishment considering all of the fine firms in the nation. With offices in Auburn, Modesto and West Sacramento, Blackburn Consulting specializes in geotechnical design/construction evaluation and recommendations for public sector projects such as roadways, bridges, underground pipes, tunnels, dams, levees, water resources and wastewater facilities.
