November 2017 New Executive Director

We are happy to announce that starting this fall, Kelly Cabal will become the new the Executive Director of CalGeo. Kelly has actually been a part of the CalGeo family for over a decade through her work at Gregg Drilling & Testing, a long time affiliate member. Kelly started her engineering career at the University of Alberta where she received a bachelors degree in Engineering Physics. After moving to California and re-adjusting to the world of geotechnical engineering, she expanded her knowledge base to take on some marketing activities at Gregg Drilling. It wasn’t until 2010 when she helped to organize CPT’10, and later CPT’14, two international symposiums focused on Cone Penetration Testing, that she realized her passion for organizing events and conferences. CalGeo is the perfect combination of the technical world meeting with educational, networking and professional events.

Kelly hopes to help CalGeo expand from being primarily focused on company owners to an association for all Geotechnical professionals. CalGeo is growing to provide more technical based sessions and programs for all members of an organization. From the students, to field technicians, to upper management, CalGeo wants to become a vital resource to California’s geotechnical community.

We are also very excited to announce that CalGeo will be rolling out a new website with a member-only portal. Stay tuned for how to create your account, update your information online and stay up-to-date with CalGeo’s events.
